Colleagues, friends, fellow readers: Most people are still using AI the way they use a search engine: ask a question, get an answer, start over. Projects unlock something much more interesting. You can turn a scientific paper into an interactive guide. A body of research into a personalized knowledge base. Or a professional project into a mentor that understands your goals, preferences, and decision-making style. The difference is substantial. Read 👇 x.com/drcaplan/status/206515…

Using AI like a toy? Projects turn it into machinery. Most people are still using AI like a faster search bar. That is fine. But it is nowhere near the ceiling. I put together a free prompt set for building your own AI Projects in ChatGPT or Claude. Used well, this changes what AI is for. /1

This is not a list of clever one-off prompts. It is a starter kit for building reusable AI Projects that can carry a framework forward. The primer and prompts are here: cedclinic.com/framework-pres… Basic prompts are the doorway. Projects are the operating system. #AI #ChatGPT /7

An example: build a Project that helps you stay honest. Every time you draft inside it, the Project can remind you to check the same standards: Am I overstating the evidence? Did I separate mechanism from outcome? Did I confuse association with causation? Did I define the exposure, dose, population, and limits clearly? That is not just AI producing text. That is AI preserving your standards.

Turns out "have you tried cannabis?" hits different when there's a meta-analysis behind it rather than a guy at a party. 😅 Here is the converging evidence on cannabis and Tourette Syndrome... #MedicalCannabis #TouretteResearch

The Mechanism - The most underreported part of this data isn't just the visible tic reduction. The premonitory urge—that mounting internal pressure before a tic surfaces—improved too. Patients know exactly why that distinction matters clinically. It points to a coherent biological story: CB1 receptors in the basal ganglia modulating the inhibitory output that keeps tics in check.

🔍 The Context- The 2026 Lancet Psychiatry review was broadly skeptical of cannabis for mental health. Fair enough. But it flagged Tourette syndrome as one of the few areas with a real signal. This new meta-analysis zooms in on exactly that. The two reviews aren't in conflict; they're converging. Worth reading before the DEA rescheduling hearing opens June 29. 👇 🔗 cedclinic.com/cannabis-toure…

The WNBA just removed marijuana from its banned substances list. That's not a footnote. That's a signal. Policy is catching up to what clinicians have been seeing in practice for years. #SportsMediacine #CannabisPolicy

A growing body of preclinical research suggests CBD may reduce neuroinflammation following traumatic brain injury, and the concussion rates in women's professional basketball are not trivial. Policy finally catching up to biology. #Neuroprotection #AthleteHealth

So athletes managing very real physical trauma with a plant have been sidelined for "substance abuse" while the league's training staff handed out anti-inflammatories like Halloween candy. Glad someone read the room. 😅 #CannabisReform #SportsMedicine

27 months. That's how long researchers followed children with severe ASD on purified CBD. The behavioral improvements seen at 3 months? Still there at 27. Most pediatric cannabis studies end at 12 weeks. This one went nearly 2 years further. #autismawareness #AutismScience

Most clinical trials of cannabinoids in children wrap up between 12 and 16 weeks, which is long enough to spot an acute effect, but nowhere near long enough to understand what sustained use actually looks like. This Argentine study's 27.6-month average follow-up is, by a wide margin, the longest published safety record for purified CBD in children with severe ASD. 🧠📋 #PediatricCannabis #AutismResearch

The FDA approved risperidone for ASD irritability in 2006. We've had nearly 20 years to study its metabolic side effects. A 27-month CBD observational study is apparently controversial. The bar is doing interesting things. 📊🤔 #AutismResearch #Cannabidiol
