Probably the most.moving and thought provoking plenary I've ever heard.
So many things to take away and think about around both the academic and humanity of our identities as clinicians.
An honor to take the stage as the #ICRE2024 closing speaker. #MedEd must train healers who are attuned to their own wounds.
Honor the pain.
Affirm the wound.
Commit to healing.
At #ICRE2024 professionalism panel Remembering, as a kid, I was told medicine is a "noble" profession. In school, it was a rigid construct. In practice, who didn't conform were penalized. Maybe we need to redefine professionalism with the noble, human attributes it needs.
A #longarmselfie that I have been looking forward to since #ICRE2024 started. If you are reading this at home, you have to plan to come to @ICREConf next year in Quebec City
#ICRE2024 Research as a criterion for resident selection with @ssilva62442 and the discussion is hot! If we ban the consideration of research, we will miss a way of choosing.
The wicked problem of difficult change... @ssilva62442 and K. Weingarten provoke with the question "should we ban consideration of research activity during resident selection?" @ICRE2024. If you are part of resident selection in your program, what do you think?
Professionalism in medicine is undergoing more than just a facelift, and will not be one definition for all situations. We must all contribute to what it will become and pay attention to how we live it individually and collectively. Medicine is redefining itself @ #ICRE2024
Up your socks game, @OrthopodReg
This is a bit of my Belonging. Does professional Identity in medicine have a place for whimsy? That has always been part of my authentic self. @Royal_College#ICRE2024
First talk of #ICRE2024 given
Always a privilege to be part of the Program Administrators Conference and they keep inviting me back, which I take as a good sign
Now for 🥟 with @TChanMD, followed by ☕️ with @jamestoml1
This conference is good for my soul

Just ran across this while checking out Instagram.... different levels/ways of teaching have been with us for a long time. As we discuss Professional Identity Formation @ #ICRE2024, we have to consider the role of the teacher too. instagram.com/reel/C_hk0MwSv…
Yes, @karimjessa , wondered about how learners who don't write notes will learn what they used to learn while doing them. Or... do they just need to know how to edit them or learn something different if AI does the note? We don't know. No one does! Why we have to explore this
Thanks for posting. Was there any discussion on the use of AI scribes for trainees and medical students in terms of impact on history and physical exam?
