Wow It was a wonderful experience cochairing the #CannabinoidsGRS2025 this year alongside Gavin.
I have learned so much but also really enjoyed getting in touch with wonderful young scientists in the #Cannabinoids community.
Absolutely grateful 🥹
Thanks to @DrJKhokhar & @CeceHillard for another fantastic Cannabinoid GRC! The #cannabinerd crew is unparalleled & I couldn't be more excited for the opportunity to organize the 2029 meeting with @RyanMcPickle

In honor of Black History Month, we want to highlight a few of the outstanding Black neuroscientists we have interviewed! Now, more than ever, it is critical to strive for & celebrate DEI efforts in research & education—science is stronger when all voices are heard 💜
To start, we asked @AyaOsman, "Where do you think we need to focus our attention as a scientific community in terms of diversity and inclusion?" Follow the link to hear our 2021 interview with Dr. Osman: storiesofwin.org/profiles/20…

In today's House appropriations committee hearing on the HHS budget, @NIHDirector defended the BRAIN initiative, along with the other programs funded by the 21st century cures act, as "critical": "We cannot let them die."
Just watched the full House hearing & testimony of NIH Director Dr. Monica Bertignolli.
A few takeaways:
• the proposed budget, in addition to not increasing for inflation, wants to condense NIH from 27 to 15 institutes. The NIH does not think this is a good idea.

Being chosen as a Leading Edge fellow was a pivotal point in my career where I began to think "maybe I can actually do THIS!" It reenforced that thought at EVERY step. The community got me through the job market with my sanity and continues to be invaluable! Apply!!!
