While riding on the Sauchiehall St cycle path today, I nearly got hit by a van coming far too fast down a side street. @MyGlasgowCC, can give way lines be painted before the cycle lane to make clear to drivers that the road is not the point at which they must be ready to stop?
The van managed to do an emergency stop, but only just. I feel safer on the road than the cycle lane, and that really isn't right. The markings need to be much, much clearer.
On Wednesday, Prof Paul Collier gave a superb lecture to @RPhilGlasgow, making a compelling argument for why decentralisation and local decision making are essential to reduce regional inequalities and to fix areas with broken economies.
