Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields. Trump calls me “Newscum” — but he’s the real scum.

Thanks to all who came to see THE THE at @forevernowuk Festival yesterday — a wonderful concert, made even more so by a special guest appearance from our dear friend @Johnny_Marr – on stage again with THE THE for the first time since 1990! It was actually Johnny who handpicked the mercurial Barrie Cadogan as heir to his position as our lead guitarist. The Ensouled Tour continues this evening in Southend-on-Sea. #thethe #mattjohnson #mattjohnsonthethe #johnnymarr #ensouledtour #forevernowfestival

Yesterday Johnny Marr performed with The The for the first time since 1990. The reunion went down at the inaugural Forever Now, where the guitarist joined his old, post-Smiths band for two songs. stereogum.com/2312766/watch-…

If you’re breaking into a government building in an attempt to hang the vice president, you get a pardon. But if you’re protesting unconstitutional kidnappings carried out by Trump’s regime, you go to jail.

I had a stick to hold up my protest sign. I was told they’re not allowed bc they’re considered potential weapons. It was a paint stir stick. But the irony is Virginia is both an open carry (gun) state and concealed weapons are allowed. Just no sticks 🙄

The Trump Administration’s calling on the California National Guard without the authorization of the Governor is unprecedented. This action is designed to inflame tensions, sow chaos, and escalate the situation. If the Guard is needed to restore peace, the Governor will ask for it. But continuing down this path will erode trust in the National Guard and set a dangerous precedent for unilateral misuse of the Guard across the country. Violence must stop, and we need to keep the focus on protecting fundamental rights. There is nothing President Trump would like more than a violent confrontation with protestors to justify the unjustifiable — invocation of the Insurrection Act or some form of martial law.
