A real honour to open the brand new £24m Hinckley Community Diagnostic Centre 🏥🩻  I’m so pleased to have worked with our local NHS to secure funding and play my part in making this a reality. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make this happen for our community!

Today we celebrated the one year anniversary of the £24m Hinckley Community Diagnostic Centre 🏥🩻 One year and over 59,000 patients later, it was great to go back and thank staff for the difference they are making to our community!

Dr Luke Evans MP retweeted
New Health Secretary, James Murray, was a Treasury Minister when VAT bills started being issued on medicines given for free in clinical trials. So he’s now perfectly placed to put a stop to this craziness, which is seeing critical, innovative treatments pulled from sick adults and children. Well done to @drcarolinej for keeping the heat on Labour Ministers on the Cancer Drugs Tax with her Urgent Question today. As she says, ‘When hearing that “every meeting” with Labour MPs was about “who can we tax in order to pay benefits to others?” few would have imagined that that would include potentially lifesaving, charitably given drugs for sick adults and dying children.” We’ve been warning Ministers about this since October. After getting a pause, the issue is still not resolved, putting charities, patients and life sciences firms in limbo. If Labour is serious about putting patients first, they should Scrap the Cancer Drugs Tax.

In March, I asked where the plan was stuck. Today's resignation brings months of speculation to an end. So, what will Starmer do now?

10-6-26 - PMQs - about Defence: Kemi: "Will that requirement be met in full?" Starmer: "We are not going to take lectures on defence from the Opposition after what they did to the armed forces" 11-6-26 - Labour Defence Secretary resigns over...Defence. Wow.

Last week, the Govt made a Statement on the Equality Act 2010 code of practice for services, public functions and associations. The code determines practical applications of the Supreme Court ruling, which said that, for purposes of the EA 2010, sex means biological sex. 1/5

While the Government has been delaying bringing the code of practice to the House, public bodies and businesses across the country have been waiting to understand what the April 2025 ruling means for them. 4/5

🗣️ In my question, I reiterated calls to the Government to publish written reasons for the changes to the code of practice, setting out what changed and why, as they have a duty to do so. 5/5

Serious questions are being raised about NHS waiting list figures after a sharp rise in patients being removed from waiting lists without treatment. In March alone, more than 350,000 patients were removed. I asked Ministers, why? A thread 🧵 1/12

I asked whether the Government would review what sits behind this spike and whether patients are coming off for the right reasons. No answer came. And no explanation for the increase was provided. 11/12

So, at this point, we simply don't know. But that is the point. Right now, patients and taxpayers have not been given a clear explanation for this sudden increase in removals from the list. That's why I and the @Conservatives Health team will keep pressing for answers. 12/12
