It was an honour to part of the research team (Dmitri Kavetski, David McInerney, George Kuczera and Julien Lerat) that were the first Australians to receive the STAHY Best Paper Award for 2021 from the International Commission on Statistical Hydrology.

Exciting to launch this webapp today at #EGU2021 - alot of hard work from PhD Student @Jasterdith. It is now easy to produce high quality probabilistic streamflow predictions - just upload observed and predicted streamflow time series and the app does the rest!*
Enjoyed presenting on 1st day of #vEGU21. Great discussions on hydrology and forecasting. Here is link to my presentation: Do you want high quality subseasonal streamflow forecasts? Ask MuTHRE! doi.org/10.25909/14489676.v1
How many zeros is too many for reliable streamflow predictions?
The latest #HEPEX blog post by @drmarkthyer, David McInerney & Dmitri Kavetski discusses ephemeral catchments - approaches for dealing with 0 flows & guidance for where & when to use them: hepex.inrae.fr/how-many-zero…
Exciting day in Aus ensemble streamflow forecasting today: the BoM's 7-Day service is public. It handles uncertainty in rainfall and streamflow predictions, and comes out of a long collaboration between our team @CSIRO & @BOM_au. Check it out! @hepexorgbom.gov.au/water/7daystreamf…
On 12-13 June 2019 there will be a symposium marking George Kuczera’s formal retirement from The University of Newcastle. gksymposium.com.au/. For those cannot make the symposium and would like to submit a video tribute, see gksymposium.com.au/video-tri…
A key part of our high performance culture here at @UniofAdelaide, its important to celebrate success. Every paper submission we go for drinks! @algorithmik
Honoured to be invited to talk at recent @ozewex_org annual workshop on Seasonal Streamflow Forecasting for Water Management: Advances and Opportunities doi.org/10.4225/55/59ffeaa21… via @figshare
@ozewex_org key note speech by Prof Craig Simmons - the orders of magnitude differences in hydraulic conductivities is like the difference between a walk in the park and the speed of light!
Great talk from @FiJohnsonWater on key role of community participation not consultation to adapt to climate change at @ozewex_org summer institute workshop
Inspiring the next generation of engineers - this sums up what @UniofAdelaide#Ingenuity2018 Conference is all about. One of my honours students is explaining to a group of primary school children how smart meters and machine learning can predict household water usage.
Congratulations to Conrad Wasko, whose PhD thesis won the Lorenz G. Straub Award, a global prize made annually to "the author of an especially meritorious dissertation in the area of hydraulic engineering". He's the 5th Australian & only the 2nd from @UNSW to receive the award 👏
