Supreme x La Martina Rugby: Behind the Design ππ (thread)
This week, Supreme collaborated with La Martina, celebrating the near-half-century-old Argentinean polo brand.
One of the most talked-after piece was a classic rugby shirt featuring vintage La Martina branding, AAP, Jacob & Co., and, most importantly, paying homage to one of the most famous polo tops ever made: the La Martina polo featuring Cartier sponsorship. That original shirt was created for the Snow Polo World Cup, a competition that began in 1985 in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

On the original item, the arm features another embroidery hit that reads "St. Moritz Top of the World" with an embroidered sun design. It immediately makes me think of the famous Supreme motto, "World Famous Supreme Team," and various other iterations stating the brand's cultural relevance.
The number 3, which is featured on both versions, is the typical number given to the team leader or tactical playmaker in polo. (Feel free to correct me on that if I'm wrong, as I'm not a polo nerd!)

Not sure if you've noticed but in recent weeks, Supreme prices in Europe has mostly been the same as USD, whereas earlier in the season and past few seasons, it used to be often 10 or more.
