Overjoyed to share that I have a PEM grid training job in Nottingham starting in August. The culmination of a decade of work towards this goal, so thank you to those who helped me along the way. You know who you are ♥️ @UHDBChildrensED @nottmhospitals

The first time I saw @HewittSusie was during a first year med school lecture. Little did I know then she would go on to be a teacher, colleague, mentor and friend. Always an inspiration, I can’t thank you enough for all your guidance and love. “A cheery wave” goodbye ♥️

Suddenly it’s Happy Birthday and a VERY happy retirement to @HewittSusie. To say she will be missed @UHDBTrust ED & @UHDBChildrensED is an understatement. An amazing mentor, colleague and friend, to everyone in emergency medicine. We’ll “crack on and see some patients” now.X

I’m an oncologist and I love my job. But I’m striking because I know first-hand that the NHS is failing our patients with cancer and I’m striking because I know first-hand that the NHS is failing its workforce. lucygossage.com/my-reasons-f… #ConsultantsStrike

Dear 🇬🇧, As we approach the NHS 75th anniversary, here's your reminder that 10 years ago, it was ranked the #1 healthcare system on Earth. You don't need a new system. You need a new govt that won't intentionally destroy it for their own financial benefit. #SOSNHS #NHS75

An absolute disgrace from @Telegraph 👇which shows their shambolic understanding of basic numeracy (just read their public sector pensions coverage for more examples)
Today it has been reported that during our first round of action in England mortality rate was 11.1% above the 5 year average. What they haven’t reported was that in Wales, where no strike action took place, mortality rate was 14% above the 5 year average. 1/3

“Because if you’ve lost a sum of money, it’s ridiculous to ask for ALL of it back. If we catch a burglar as he’s leaving our house, we don’t ask for EVERYTHING back, that’s “ridiculous”.” 😂😂 inews.co.uk/opinion/striking…

11-15 April will be the next round of Junior Doctors strike action in England.   The Government is still refusing to make a credible offer - or any offer at all - to resolve our dispute. Read more: bma.org.uk/juniorspay

Accidentally crossed the picket and spent some time on the other side today. Everyone on AMRA @nottmhospitals was amazing. Thankfully home now - just slightly more irradiated than before 😂

It’s been 2.5 years, 1 wedding, 1 PGCert and 1.5 babies… 😂 I have loved this OOPT so much, except maybe all the night shifts! Will miss everyone, especially all in @UHDBChildrensED ♥️
Our way of saying goodbye to a great team who have looked after us for the last 2 years. Thank you to everyone, we’ll be back!

Hi @wesstreeting - about direct access to specialists, I have questions ... thread 🧵 You have a lump in the back of your head, you want to see a dermatologist. Why not a surgeon? What if the lump was in your neck. Is it a gland swelling, a lipoma, cancer? Who do you see now? 1\6

When people ask what a collapse of the NHS would look like, it's this, it's already here. It's not going to be bricked up hospitals and no one answering 999, it's going to be lowering standards and rationing care. Acknowledging we can no longer help everyone who calls.
