Kenyan music and the Kenyan sound has always been an abstract. No word can describe it, no feeling particularly. Do you think you can you define the kenyan sound? what does it sound like? is it genge tone?

I told people at @drunkenlectures that sabotage of meetings is a major part of anti-education in Kenya. It's not a problem limited to the school system.

State-hired goons have stormed a meeting where the KHRC and other CSOs were discussing the 2026-2027 budget that was presented yesterday. One of the assailants was arrested and said he was sent by a government official. Some valuables, including a phone, were stolen during the incident. The civil society held this meeting at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi to assess how well the budget addressed citizen concerns. We condemn this act of intimidation and assert that it will not deter us from scrutinizing the budget. We will continue to demand that it put the interests of the people at front and center.

Thanks to Mwalimu @wmnjoya for the wonderful lecture yesterday, and to everyone in attendance for being an attentive and curious audience. It was a conversation that should continue wherever we go, and as such, we want to make our additional contribution by sharing some links.
With Mwalimu hapa taking us through the interesting history of Kenya’s education system 🫡 In our defence, tumekunywa tu ‘uji’ ju ya baridi 😂

The fifth one is a research paper by Kenda Mutongi on how the airlift students were more concerned in uplifting their economic status, rather than the politics of decolonization.
