hello everyone, weāve been made aware of a bug where āoverwhelmedā was listed as a location in the smart phrases options now we understand that overwhelmed, can sometimes feel like a location however, this was a bug and is not intended behavior. We are working to bring overwhelmed back under the emotion section.

We hope everyone had a good #WWDC so far! We can't wait to bring you exciting new features. We have been made aware of issues surrounding the Smart Phrashes model and its selection of sentences when the inputs provided contains words like "hate" or "dislike". The model is being selective about these words and trying to offer words of support, unfortunately that means you are not getting coherent sentences out of the model. We are working to fix these issues and will be delaying our updates to ship the fix along with Environmental ASL. Ducky Software Inc is committed to providing a safe and responsible environment for all customers to use our products and we do not take these reports lightly. If you issues related to use of Foundation Models in Smart Phrases please let us know via DM or send an email to: hello@duckysoftware.com
Parents who are concerned about use of Apple Intelligence powered systems can turn Smart Phrases off in Settings and soon will be able to have the option to lock Smart Phrases settings changes behind a PIN. This continues our commitment to the safety of our customers.

Ducky Software is committed to safety, that's why we are building out even more advanced tools and capabilities for parents while still respecting the personally and individualism of the people who use our products everyday! Second Voice will soon come bundled with much more advanced protections to safeguard children from unexpected outcomes the model may produce. While we try our best to limit unexpected or inappropriate outcomes through extensive testing surrounding the model and its prompts and security, despite our best efforts some instances of model misuse may still slip through the cracks. The latest update will significantly crack down on potential misuse of our models. We understand that to some users (particularly older children and early teens) this may make the model less useful as we continue to block harmful content like swear words and profanity by default. This is why we are enabling access to a new Smart Phrases Protections menu for parents, guardians and caregivers that allows the model to be increasingly fine-tuned. We recognize that it is not our job to police what the users of our products should and should not be able to say and that individual needs vary. This is why the new menu will NOT block access to individual words such as swear words or profanity but will instead allow parents to tune how permitting the model is when the child uses it. These changes will also NOT apply to the main Speech tab which will continue to allow speech unfiltered. The main objective of the new menu is to limit misuse of the model not to limit speech and if the model is being mis-used parents can always lock access to Smart Phrases via the new Protection PIN. It is important for parents to understand that we do not feel it is our place to provide parental controls directly limiting the speech of our customers and that discussions around language concerns should be had in a secure, safe and friendly environment.
