When a town of 300 people asks you to host their power wheels race.
Backstory: A few years ago, the family and I were on our way back from Lake Mcconaughy in Nebraska. We were sunburnt and exhausted and stopped off in a sleepy little town called Potter to grab a bite to eat at the only place open. The gal running the coffee shop saw all our kids and asked if they would want to play duck pin bowling next door while we waited for our food. In small town fashion, she grabbed her keys and opened their bowling alley for us. Behind the scenes, she was calling her husband. It turns out he had been trying to get a hold of me for YEARS. So this man Drew shows up and proceeds to pitch me this idea they have to host a power wheels race durning their town car show. After speaking with him awhile, I decided it was a no brainer and we made out way out to Potter help out with their Power Wheels race.
What a fantastic weekend with great people. This tiny town threw a MASSIVE event, with no shortage of volunteers. It was so cool to see just how many people rolled up their sleeves to help out with the festivities. There truly is something special about small town America.
This year we will be back, Potter Car Bowl Power Wheels Race June 27th.
