If she wasn’t working for Elon Gwynne Shotwell would be hailed as an incredible success story and the most powerful woman in aerospace.
Instead it’s radio silence from the media
Britain losing access to Claude fable isn’t on the BBC or Times homepage, 4th on the guardian, 7th on the FT and below the fold on the Telegraph.
What are we doing here?
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

May Europe one day wake up and start striving for this level of capitalistic homerun. Dump the degrowth nonsense, celebrate progress, and once again reach for the stars.
Elon Musk just created ~5,000 new millionaires, current and former $SPCX employees.
Of those ~5,000 people, roughly 400 of them will see stakes worth $100 million.
“The defence of our nation is the first duty of government.”
It is. Your predecessor resigned yesterday because Keir Starmer wouldn’t fund it properly.
We need to cut welfare to pay for defence.
The defence of our nation is the first duty of government.
Our Armed Forces carry out that duty every day with professionalism, courage, and extraordinary skill.
It is a huge honour and a privilege to serve alongside them again.
The next war won't be won by armies, navies or air forces alone.
It'll be won by the country whose 19 year olds can code, whose factories can build drones in weeks not years, and whose grid stays on when someone tries to switch it off.
Industry. Society. Economy. That's the fight now.
We're not ready. And we're not being honest about what getting ready will cost.
My first duty as Prime Minister is to keep the British people safe.
That’s why I’m taking our defence relationship with France to the next level.
We’re stepping up work on key industries, supporting thousands of UK jobs, and deepening cooperation on nuclear — making our country more secure.
Who is signing the drone warrants tonight in the UK?
Who would give the go order to engage Iranian threats?
Who is responsible for SF operations in Ukraine this evening?
Labour chaos leaving UK rudderless.
Starmer has chosen his own job over the defence of our nation. He would have to sack Rachel Reeves in order to fund defence properly. He’s chosen not to do that because if the Chancellor goes, he goes. That is not patriotism. That is weak, selfish cowardice.
A defence secretary has never resigned in this way. Fox, Heseltine, Profumo - all resigned over scandals. To resign because the PM would not pay enough to keep the country secure - unprecedented.
The most brutal line from John Healey’s resignation letter:
“You have been unable, and the Treasury has been unwilling, to commit the resources that the nation needs to defend the country at this time of rising threats.”
Starmer’s own team are telling us that he is an unfit PM.
'Clearing the backlog' always meant 'just let people in without remotely checking who they are and whether they might pose a threat to society'. We have an elite that doesn't care about the safety of the people. x.com/DailyMail/status/20648…
