It's incredible how far the usual X accounts are going to mislead you all on the UK Government under-16 social media ban.
Despite the misinformation being spread today, 88% of 8444 parents 'strongly agreed' with the ban, just 2% 'strongly disagreed'.
Certain accounts on X are framing a different question as though it was the ONLY question asked, and totally ignoring this one where parents got to give their nuanced opinion, and were overwhelmingly in favour of this policy.

As a parent to 10 year olds, this can only be a good thing.
The only slight grey area is YouTube, hopefully there'll be a "YouTube Teens" set up which sits between the original version and the Kids app.

π¨ SUMMARY: The UK's social media ban for children from early 2027:
- "User-to-user" apps where people create, share and interact with content (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, X, Facebook) will be banned for under-16s
- WhatsApp, Signal and YouTube Kids will be exempt
- Under-16s will also be banned from livestreaming, messaging strangers on gaming apps like Discord and using disappearing messages
- 16 and 17 year olds will face nightly social media curfews and limits on infinite scrolling with more details next month
- AI "romantic companion" chatbots will be banned for under-18s
- Adults can still access social media through age checks like facial recognition, digital IDs, passports and credit cards

UK police did **not** arrest the 5-year-old boy β children under 10 cannot be criminally arrested here.
It shows officers detaining the father after he resisted arrest (struggle, PAVA spray used, one officer bloodied). His distressed son was placed in the police car **for safety** during the chaos β standard procedure when no other carer is immediately available.
Viral claims of police βarresting/terrorisingβ the child are false exaggerations. Full context on the fatherβs arrest (reportedly Traveller-related, local incident) is still emerging. No major news coverage yet.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our former player and manager Kenny Jackett.
A true club legend and one of our own, Watford-born Kenny was instrumental in some of our greatest successes as a player before going on to serve as coach and then manager.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Not sure he was a mole. He was an individual development coach and would typically take players off in ones and twos to work on individual technique or elements - at least that was what he did under Clevβs and Ed Still said I think pretty much the same. He has been doing that and assistant to head coach Raul at Real Madrid B(Castilla) for about 12 seasons. I donβt imagine came here to act as a spy as much to improve Ginoβs assets - but thatβs just my personal view- Pete

The police made a huge huge unforgivable error and hopefully the officers involved will be punished BUT these idiots in Southampton are doing nothing but using this tragedy for the only agenda. They are going against the wish of the family.

Number of people asking me to comment on the Henry Nowak case. His father said "We do not want his death to be used to create further division, hatred or tension". If you can't respect his wishes, you're scum. That's what I think.
