we built Guild. bricklayers and informal workers in Nigeria have been invisible to the financial system forever. no smartphone, no bank record, every job ends in cash and disappears here is how Guild works These informal workers get onboarded via our field agents. a contractor posts a job and budget on the web or WhatsApp. payment goes into escrow via Squad. our AI agent then calls the worker directly on their button phone or sends an SMS, negotiates the job, and confirms the match Once the job is done. payout hits their Squad or bank account immediately that transaction is now on record. do that enough times and a bank can finally see you exist and give opportunities to loans and other benefits. we also built a solid API doc so banks and financial institutions can plug straight into Guild and start offering these workers loans and financial products docs.guild.com.ng cc @OfficialSquadCo @gtbank
We just won Squad Hackathon 3.0! It was the craziest experience ever. ๐Ÿ”ฅ 1,600 people applied. We got selected to the top 800. When we reached the venue, they surprised us with the format. We knew nothing before. They gave us 3 tough rounds of online quizzes on DSA, algorithms, and live coding like LeetCode. We came top in all three rounds and entered the top 50. Later, they picked the top 10 teams. We presented our idea and the judges loved it because it was unique and well built. What an amazing journey! So grateful to my team. @OfficialSquadCo @gtbank

I have been able to do it. I built a small Chrome extension that reads the DOM for what I'm currently playing and sends the result to a small backend I wrote. Android exposes NotificationListenerService and MediaSessionManager API, so I created a small app using Kotlin to listen for media events and send to the endpoint. Everything worked out nicely. Check it live on my website --> akinkunmi.dev The source code --> github.com/akinloluwami/akinโ€ฆ
I want to add a "Currently playing:" section to my website, but I use YouTube Music, which doesn't have an API. I have an idea on how I can achieve it, though.

You don't need money to build a product. I've gone from idea to launch without spending a single dollar. Here are the free tools I actually use for every stage ๐Ÿงต

I built Binx for the person who canโ€™t afford $20/month but deserves the same AI everyone else is raving about. Tonight it made me a 6-slide deck from one WhatsApp message.

Holidays are overrr โ€ขImproved my backend skills. โ€ขGrew my web dev agency and bought a domain for it: dycoder.ng โ€ขBuilt africawellblog.com โ€ขAttended and spoke at a tech event (pitched an idea for a project we later built with AI) โ€ขWent deep into using AI ๐Ÿ™ƒ
2-week holiday. Todayโ€™s Thursday (week 1). My friend asked me: What have you been doing with your life? Iโ€™ve done somethingโ€ฆ but honestly, it feels like Iโ€™m wasting time. Iโ€™ve set a lot to cover When the holiday ends, Iโ€™ll quote this and see what I actually achieved. #fypใ‚ทใ‚š
