Anderson is heading to Man City.
Rogers is wanted by Arsenal.
We can't really compete without UCL. For me, James Garner and Gibbs-White are top backups that don't have top suitors, incase we lose Enzo Fernandez.
Garner is one of the most difficult central midfielders to play against in the PL. He's everywhere winning duels (61% total duels, 5.5 PG), and creating chances (7 assists and 12 big chances created). But most importantly, he's technically good and covers a lot of grass. Plus, he has an elite level mentality.
Cole Palmer told a story of how he locked his opponent down, and the moment he assigned another player to look after him, his opponent assisted a goal. Palmer was furious at his teammate for doing a poor job. He's that kind of warrior; he's relentless. Yet, he created 12 big chances this season and is one of a few outfield players that started all 38 games. Elite availability.
Morgan Gibbs-White is extremely underrated. Rogers is my first choice, but you can make a case that Gibbs is more productive, consistent, and has better leadership quality.
Gibbs-White scored 15 league goals from midfield (14 non-penalty goals), plus 4 assists. That's crazy. He has top-level out-of-possession work and consistent delivery. He's a captain, so you would expect that level of mentality and consistency.
These two will bring extra goals, physicality, leadership, creativity, and take our OOP from 50% to 80%. I mean, it's not always about name but about the right fit.
I think they will fit in.
If you miss Morgan Rodgers, sign Morgan Gibbs-White. He's still a Morgan. š
If you miss Anderson, sign James Garner.
Two very underrated and hardworking ballers!
