While in Slovenia, we took the opportunity to visit our latest project in that country; a 1.0m high, 40.0m wide water-filled rubber dam installed across the River Sava at Hrušica. This dam was installed in 2025.

Last week, we visited the Završnica reservoir in Slovenia with three engineers from the UK. The visit was hosted by Savske Elektrarne Ljubljana d.o.o. In 2018 Dyrhoff supplied four 1.0m high and 7.3m wide Obermeyer spillway gates that were installed on the existing dam spillway.

It is 25 years since we supplied this 2.15m high, 22.0m wide Obermeyer spillway gate to a privately-owned small hydropower project on the River Günz in Günzburg, Germany. That is 25 years of continuous operation and power generation for a satisfied owner.

We have just completed installation of our fourth pneumatically-operated spillway gate in Scotland. The location is near Dubh Loch reservoir on the Riemore Estate in Perthshire. Gate dimensions are 2.6m high and 6.0m wide.

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente (APA) to our latest project in Portugal. This 1.8m high, 24.0m wide rubber dam was installed in 2025 as part of Reabilitação do Sistema de Açudes na Freguesia de Mosteiros in the Municipality of Arronches.

Our latest installation is in Nova Scotia, Canada at the Ruth Falls hydropower station where we are installing rubber dams in 7 stoplog bays. Each rubber dam is 1.25m high and 13.4m wide. The first two sections have been completed with the remaining five to follow next month.

First inflation of our latest rubber dam installed across the Rio Caia near Arronches in Portugal. The 24.0m wide, 1.8m high air-inflated rubber dam took four days to install. It is our fourth rubber dam in Portugal.

This week, we are back in Europe installing a new rubber dam across the Rio Caia near Arronches in Portugal. The 24.0m wide, 1.8m high rubber dam is inflated by air and is used for diverting water for irrigation/agricultural purposes.

Last week we successfully completed replacement of an ageing Bridgestone rubber dam at a water treatment facility in Winnipeg, Canada. Rubber dam dimensions are 1.2m high and 3.2m wide.

This week we are in Slovenia replacing the rubber membrane for a water-filled rubber dam at MHE Hrušica near Jesenica. The original rubber dam was manufactured by Sava Kranj in the mid 1990s. When completed, the replacement rubber dam will be around 1.0m high and 40.0m wide.

We are on site this week commissioning two rubber dams for the Lock and Dam 14 small hydroelectric project on the Kentucky river in the USA. The 10ft x 52ft downstream rubber dam provides the head for the 3030kw StreamDiver turbines. The upstream rubber dam is used as a cofferdam

The work to replace two rubber dams on the River Menturus in Indonesia is now complete. Thanks to the local contractor, PT. Parama Adhi Pratama, for carrying out the work. Our next project is replacement of a water-filled rubber dam on the River Sava at Hrušica in Slovenia.

One of our latest projects is to replace two ageing rubber dams installed on the River Menturus near Surabaya in Indonesia. Both rubber dams have a design height of 2.1m with widths of 12.6m and 16.2m. Two other spans were replaced by Dyrhoff at the same location in 2021.
