The conversation around GLP-1 coverage is often about cost. It's rarely about what happens when coverage stops. It should be both.

“For decades healthcare has been focused on fighting the fire. We now finally have the tools to prevent it.” That was the message that eMed CEO @lindayaX delivered, closing out the first-ever Health Innovation Revolution Summit. The employers in that room heard it. Now it’s time to act on it.

Happy Global Wellness Day. Dr. Scott Kahan at the industry's first Health Innovation Revolution Summit: "It's not enough to just cover these medications. People need support, myth-busting, and ongoing care." Coverage isn't a wellness strategy. Clinical oversight is.

Stanford's Jeffrey Pfeffer to employers at the industry's first-ever Health Innovation Revolution Summit last week: The data on workplace health has existed for years. The harder question is why more organizations haven't acted on it. His answer: it's not a knowledge problem. It's a decision problem. And the cost of not deciding is showing up on your balance sheet right now.

The math isn't complicated. The question is whether you're building the program to get there.

At the industry’s first ever Health Innovation Revolution Summit, one gap kept surfacing: the difference between offering GLP-1 coverage and actually moving the needle on population health. Adherence and prevention came up throughout and according to Aon's analysis, sustained GLP-1 use is associated with slower cost growth and fewer hospitalizations over time.

60% of Americans get their coverage from their employer. Consumers deserve access at a fair price, that’s why eMed is focused on the B2B relationship @lindayaX

GLP-1s work best when the basics are dialed in too. Protein, movement, sleep, fiber. Four things that shape your results beyond the prescription. 👇

Women are 33% more likely than men to visit the doctor. Twice as likely for preventive care. (CDC) Coverage alone isn't the answer if it wasn't built for the people least likely to use it. 👇

Healthcare workers take care of everyone else. It's time their employers take care of them. @TomBrady and I built something special, and @HR_Brew is calling it a potential "differentiator" for the industry. 👉 bit.ly/3OXZG7F

🎙️eMed Health Population CEO @lindayaX is now leading the charge at an up and coming GLP-1 player that just scored a big capital raise and has NFL legend @TomBrady as its founding chief wellness officer. But, the time she spent rebuilding @elonmusk's X offered up a moment of reflection when we sat down on my Power Players podcast on @YahooFinance: “When I first started [at X], I used to say that it was a career opportunity of a lifetime. And then I was there a couple of weeks and I dropped the career part and I said, it's just an opportunity of a lifetime. And again, I go back to my time of what we did, of repositioning the platform to become the global town square. And I say for the world, it was like turning a light bulb on and in a dark room. And, and so who wouldn't want to be part of that? But as you know, it was at a very tumultuous time. Transformation is always messy. And when it's messy, people that you think you've known your whole career or people that you've done business with, it takes them a little while to warm up to what you're doing. So that's why even those relationships that I talked about mattered most,” Yaccarino said. Tasked with stabilizing a platform in turmoil, Yaccarino is credited with modernizing X’s business operations, spearheading the expansion of video features and digital wallet services, and working tirelessly to bring back advertisers.
