My problem is that The Bahamas has been a "manosphere" space before the concept even was popular or coined. Nicolette Bethel, points out "In Bahamian symbology, โhardโ is masculine and โsoftโ feminine. Young men in particular are exhorted to be โhardโ or โtoughโ, and at all costs to avoid being dubbed โsoftโ, which is regarded as โsissyishโ.
Prominent manosphere figures have positioned high achievement in school as feminine, and leaned into that grievance as a money-making tool. Countering it demands resources, bandwidth, and a coordinated response that most institutions arenโt currently built for.
