Fun fact: these are Dutch ripple (sometimes called flammleisten frames) and they were huge in the 17th-century. Anyways, only like three guys in the world are to reproduce these because they managed to reconstruct Diderot's "Waving" woodcarving engine from 18th C. manuals lol

There is a Japanese Marxist who is popular right now; he is actually stupid. Yet he is smarter than any scholar in his field. A master tactician. He knows the right place and time. He dug for a knife in the mud and found it. He knows exactly what he is doing. For that I like him

There was a case involving the Westboro Baptist Church that went to SCOTUS and the attorney Westboro chose to partake in the oral argument was Fred Phelps' daughter. And I'm not going to lie she was one of the more articulate advocates I've heard in a SCOTUS oral argument ever

Thinking about the most successful Maoist third-worldist organization in American history. Specifically the Westboro Baptist Church

In the past 24 hours I have developed a significant interest in AI specifically as it relates to computational design. The chief motivation in my coming study of it is that I would like to see computational/parametric designers miserable. Because they suck and they deserve it

I would love to sap the joy out of all "architects" and "designers" who construct these parametric abominations, such as the ones attached below, forever

Being a cocaine dealer must instill within you a high tolerance for very annoying text messages given that you are dealing with cocaine addicts. "How close?" "Close?" "WYA?" "ETA?" "LMK" from one person all in the span of 10 minutes

Remember when they banned juul for a day back in 2022 and I bought 12 packs of juul pods for $350 only for me to walk out of the store and find out that an appeals court overruled the ban. That was kind of nice because I didn't have to go to the convenience store for weeks

Final one. Got it to add technical components like an E21 lightbulb socket for a table lamp design, moreover a 3-point mount attaching the shade to the base. Still a few missing components here and there but I am very impressed

It produces elementary geometry I know but this is insane. I see the writing on the wall now, I know what's coming, etc. These are not .stl meshes btw, these are full-on NURBS models

I've always had an innate repulsion toward both AI and computational/parametric design. But this has singlehandedly sparked an interest in both subjects for me. Not to sound like some San Fran Founderfag but this is genuinely exciting

Not to soyface over tech stuff but I got the new Claude model to make a script that instantly generates a 17th-century Brewster Chair WITH mortise-and-tenon joinery... as a NURBS model. This is such an insane development. I didn't think generative NURBS was even possible
