In amateur radio, a panadapter (panoramic adapter) is a device or software feature that provides a real-time, visual display of radio signals across a wide band of frequencies. A panadapter lets you see the radio spectrum. youtu.be/ZMhHLnMN6BE

Thanks to Ría #N2RJ and their team, “PocketSDR” will soon be available, a new Android app for controlling FlexRadio. I’m privileged to be a beta tester, and I can say it’s truly amazing ✅👌 @FlexRadioSystem

Yesterday, watching videos @hamvention, one thing became vy clear: amateur radio is far from dead 📻⚡ CW, POTA/SOTA, portable ops, SDR remote stations, solar power, packed halls and lots of young people getting into the hobby Hamradio isn’t disappearing, it’s evolving

m0urx.com/ dx-adventure.com/en/home-eng… A few weeks ago, we announced that we were hard at work on a new challenge: “Destination X”. From the feedback we received, it was clear that many radio amateurs immediately showed interest in our next DX-pedition. We still had a few things to finalize, but we can finally share the news with you now. After months of intensive work and extensive administrative consultations, we have officially obtained the amateur radio licence. In February 2027, we are heading to Somalia! On 14 February 2026, our local contact was invited to the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in Hargeisa, where Minister Jamaal Mohamed Jama personally handed over the official licence. During the DX-pedition, we will be active under the callsign 6O6X (“six oscar six x‑ray”) .Although the Belgian government still advises against travel to Somalia, several reliable sources confirm that Somaliland, located in the northwest, is the safest region of the country. The safety of the team is the top priority, which is why we have deliberately chosen to organise our activities in this area. On average, the country receives barely 500 visitors per year. The team currently has a very promising location lined up and is in the final stages of negotiations to make the DX-pedition happen at this site.A Belgian–Dutch team of 11 operators will be fully committed to making this DXpedition a success once again. Team: • ON4AMX | Marc Michiels • ON4HIL | Patrick Godderie • ON5UR | Max Van Rymenant | Teamleader • ON5TN | Karel Moerman • ON6CC | Marc Cosemans • ON6DX | Wim Hamblok • ON7RU | Franky Beuselinck • ON7USB | Geert Cottyn • ON8AZ | Francis Balcaen | Teamleader • PA3EWP | Ronald Stuy We are facing some particularly major challenges; the current global situation is not making things easy for us. In recent weeks, airfares have already risen by 30%. Logistics, and especially the transport of all equipment, also represent a significant challenge under the current circumstances. Nevertheless, the team aims to be active with five to six HF stations. In addition, we are exploring whether techniques such as QO-100 satellite communication and EME (Earth-Moon-Earth) communication are feasible. If successful, these would be the very first QO-100 and EME contacts ever made from Somalia. With this DX-pedition, DX-Adventure aims to once again offer the worldwide amateur radio community a unique activation, while at the same time pushing the boundaries of what is possible. For the 6O6X DXpedition, Tim Beaumont will act as the official QSL manager, ensuring a professional and efficient handling of all QSL cards and LoTW confirmations. • Our website is still in its early stages. Over the coming weeks, we will be adding regular updates and new content as we continue to build it out. Make sure to visit frequently and stay informed about all the latest news on the 6O6X DXpedition. • We would like to sincerely thank Farah Abdi Warsameh, AP photographer (Associated Press), for making his impressive photos available to us. We greatly appreciate his contribution and the trust he has placed in us by allowing us to use his images. • Info via info@dx-adventure.com
