The 10-hour blackout in Spain confirmed that switching power supplies have destroyed amateur radio. 10 hours of noise-free bands and extremely weak signals with crystal-clear audio. Just incredible! But everything went to hell when the power came back on.

For all these years I believed that root was the all-powerful user who could do anything on the system. Even destroy it. I was wrong. Secure Boot is.

I've been seeing these signals, barely 3 kHz wide and lasting half a second or less, on various SDRs and across different ham bands for weeks. They appear on random frequencies, and when you manage to hear one, it's clearly a digital signal. Any ideas?

From what I see in the MacBook Neo reviews, all Mac users do is edit 4K videos and browse the web with 80 tabs open at the same time. Nothing else.

For some reason this 1/16A 250V fuse consists of a small 82 ohms resistor and a spring.

This is the shutdown of RNE's 585 and 657 kHz transmitters in Madrid today. You can see the band is being abandoned because Europe failed to enforce its own EMC regulations. Switching power supplies powered devices are slowly killing radio

It's that time of the year again...
This is how a small Christmas tree can kill your HF bands. Happy SWLing, if you can...

Fun fact: KDEConnect can crash your wifi stack under Debian Trixie with some Mediatek adapters.

Seeing the evolution of chinese walkies, I think we can expect something like this by 2030.
