🥳 It’s a special day in aviation history! Today, the Ford Tri-Motor marks 100 years since it first flew.
🪿Affectionately called the “Tin Goose,” it was one of the first all-metal airplanes. The Ford Motor Company started production for this original airliner in 1925, and by June 11, 1926, it was airborne, and eventually proved to Americans that commercial flight was both safe and practical. ✈️
A handful of Tri-Motors remain airworthy today, including EAA’s 1929 model 4-AT-E. 🫶
