Cambridge City Council @camcitco has failed to elect a new leader at their annual meeting today. Labour's Cllr Katie Thornburrow was the only nominee, but both Greens and Lib Dems voted against. The parties took almost two-hours to discuss - only to vote the exact same way.

The meeting has been adjourned until June 1 at 6pm when they will try again to elect a council leader.
