Cheers to fatherhood.
"Men who prioritize fatherhood may lose some sleep, gain some extra weight & enjoy less free time, but they can also discover a richer life with greater meaning, purpose & connection. And when it comes to brain health and mental fitness, becoming a father is one of the best things you can do." nytimes.com/2026/06/06/opini…

Because nothing screams progress like turning the world’s most loving word into a sterile lab term…..
JUST IN: New York votes to replace the term “mother” with “gestating parent” in parts of state law.

The Drama Democrats are pushing Virginia toward a historic govt shutdown. They’re completely unserious people, interested not in the well-being of everyday Virginians, but only their own political posturing.
Just when I thought Chairman Torian and I were getting close to agreeing on a budget, we had a meeting with Data Center Diva this morning and she agrees with Amazon Don who doesn’t want to impact the richest corporations in the country.

Spanberger is proving to be an inept chaos agent. She’s intent on politicizing our universities & pandering to her far-left base. Good on him for pushing back.
In a letter to Gov. Spanberger, Virginia Tech Board of Visitors rector John Rocovich said, "I will not resign." "I found that call and the subsequent letter deeply offensive, legally unsupported, and wholly inconsistent with the Governor’s own publicly-stated principles..."

After asking for specifics, I have been told by the Governor's office that at this time, there will be no further explanation on why Governor Abigail Spanberger removed John Rocovich as Virginia Tech's Rector. Spanberger's letter said Rocovich's conduct "has violated the Code of Conduct for Commonwealth Appointees to Boards, Authorities, & Commissions, the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors’ Code of Ethics, and the governing statutes requiring board members to act in accordance with the best interests of Virginia Tech.”
Replying to @TylerEnglander
I have asked Spanberger’s office, “What specific conduct of Rocovich’s violated the code of conduct the Governor mentioned in her letter?” I’ll update when I hear back.

Statement from Senator Mark Obenshain on the Removal of John Rocovich from the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors HARRISONBURG, VA — Senator Mark Obenshain (R-Rockingham) issued the following statement today regarding Governor Abigail Spanberger's removal of John Rocovich as Rector of the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors: "John Rocovich has devoted decades of his life to Virginia Tech and the Commonwealth of Virginia. His record of service, leadership, and philanthropy is extraordinary. Few individuals have done more to strengthen Virginia Tech, and few have earned the respect of the university community to the degree that he has. I am proud to stand with John Rocovich. That is why this action raises serious concerns. Virginia law permits the removal of a board member only for malfeasance, misfeasance, incompetence, or gross neglect of duty. Those standards exist to protect public institutions from political interference and to ensure that board members can exercise independent judgment without fear of retaliation. Governor Spanberger has publicly identified no conduct that appears to satisfy that legal standard. If grounds for removal exist, Virginians deserve to know what they are. Transparency is not optional when the law itself requires specific reasons for such an extraordinary action. What makes this decision especially disappointing is that Governor Spanberger campaigned on a promise to depoliticize higher education governance and to reduce executive involvement in the affairs of Virginia's universities. Removing the sitting rector of Virginia Tech without publicly stating a lawful basis appears inconsistent with those commitments. This issue is bigger than any one individual. The precedent established today will apply to future governors and future boards at every public university in Virginia. Virginia Tech belongs to the people of the Commonwealth, not to any political administration. John Rocovich deserves fairness, and Virginians deserve an explanation. I call on the Governor to publicly state the specific reasons for this action and allow the public to judge whether they satisfy the requirements of Virginia law." Senator Obenshain represents the Second District in the Senate of Virginia. The district includes the city of Harrisonburg and the counties of Bath, Highland, Page, Rockingham, and Augusta (part.) He is a member of the Senate Committees on Courts of Justice; Commerce & Labor; Agriculture, Conservation, and Natural Resources; and Finance and Appropriations. ###

Spanberger, who previously declared Governors shouldn’t interfere with the governance of universities, just fired the most beloved Rector in Va Tech history, John Rocovich.  The man who was the force behind recruiting James Franklin to save the football program, who has served twice before as Rector, who has given decades of his life to his beloved alma matter was fired without explanation.  This is a shameful act to appease her leftwing base & proves once again she is Governor Bait & Switch.

Democrats are failing to do even the basics of governing.

Virginia Democrats say they will make sure a VA Supreme Court justice “does not serve anymore” simply because he ruled against the illegal gerrymandering amendment. It is crystal clear that the modern Democratic Party is a lawless group that cares about nothing but power. All their talk about the rule of law & democratic norms is completely fake.
“The reality is that we expected the Supreme Court of Virginia to respect the constitution and the will of the people,” Del. Dan Helmer said. “They did not.” Helmer continued: “We will make sure that Justice Kelsey does not serve anymore come this January." Translation: This Justice actually followed the Virginia Constitution & said no to my unconstitutional power grab, so now I’m going to throw a temper tantrum & do something that hasn’t happened since the 1800s by refusing to reappoint a previously confirmed Va Supreme Ct Justice.

If we are to survive and thrive as a nation, we must recommit and rededicate ourselves to the faith that made us who we are, the foundation of all things.
From our country’s beginning, for as long as America has embodied freedom and exceptionalism, the soul of our nation has been rooted in the Christian faith. Today we gather, as our forefathers did on this day centuries ago, to rededicate our nation to God.
