It's nice to coast, as long as you avoid early celebration! Celebrate a lot afterward, though.

Idea for @SlackHQ: "Convert messages to thread" β€” ideally we thread conversations even in topic-specific channels to make things more scannable, but occasionally it gets away from us. Rolling messages into a thread post hoc could be nice.

I guess it creates room to exploit it in funny waysβ€”there's probably some way that converting flat messages to a thread could lose the original context or even make someone look bad. Maybe it's an admin tool only, or something πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

Today, we're shipping a series of features that move uv beyond a pip alternative, and into an end-to-end solution for managing Python projects, command-line tools, single-file scripts, and even Python itself. A single, unified tool. Like Cargo, for Python. It's very fast.

I just open-sourced my first Django package: Cotton. Inspired by Vue, Svelte and Laravel Blade components, it brings component-based design to Django templates. Check it out! πŸ™ github.com/wrabit/django-cot…

Updated my hacky lil' script for viewing Python PEPs in @obsdmd to use properties, create and link people, and include the PEP body in the note for each PEP. 43 PEPs were added since I last tinkered with this! 😲 github.com/daneah/pep-connec…

Once again, I’m watching a discussion of ppl stipulating PyPA/Python core/Santa Claus to β€œjust pick ONE packaging workflow tool & go with it” & once again I have to remind everyone that the main problem isn’t a grand conspiracy of someone not wanting to pick & make you suffer,🧡

Thanks to @driscollis for having me on to talk a little about writing a software book. Mike is probably the real expert, and I hope to have as many useful titles out in the world as he does some day! If you're thinking of writing a book, I'm sure we'd both be happy to chat! πŸπŸ“˜
The latest episode of The Python Show Podcast is out now with @driscollis and @easyaspython We talk about #Python, book writing and so much more! pythonshow.com/p/26-writing-…
