Brian Schottenheimer doesn't wear sunglasses around his players. I loved this story and a life and coaching lesson he learned from his dad. @ESPNNFL @LauraRutledge @clarencehilljr

Rick Pitino shares a masterclass on teamwork and selflessness. "Regardless of how you play, when you play for the name on the front, the back prospers." "When you play for the name on the back, you never prosper. All you are is guys with good stats. That's it." Stats don't win championships - teams do. "Play for the front. Give everything you have for the front name." "Do everything - from diving on the floor, to blocking shots, to setting screens, to playing together. Play for the name on the front." Great teams play for each other. They know connected teams achieve more. "The name on the front is gonna bring big rewards for the name on the back. I guarantee it." "Give it everything you have for this name." The formula is simple: Put the team first, and everything else follows. Play for the front. The back will take care of itself. (🎥St. Johns )

Old coaches can’t survive in the new era of college basketball. Sweet Sixteen coaches: Rick Pitino (73 years old) Tom Izzo (71) Rick Barnes (71) Kelvin Sampson (70) John Calipari (67)

If I can’t be @ShilohSaintsFB yelling at 7th graders to run to the ball this morning, this has to be a suitable alternative I guess! #eatthecaptain

@ShilohSaintsFB⁩ ‘26 Shark School Game Show Competition had a Sportscenter Top 10 finish! Great job by both teams but only champions get rings! Next level commitment to learning by Saints players/coaches Jan-Spring Break. #eatthecaptain

Replying to @progressive
@progressive is missing a huge “parents” ad opportunity in hotel fitness centers. Gotta love the big belly middle age guy in sweat pants barely moving on the treadmill next to you driving the “What brings you to town?” conversation. #neverforgeturairpods

21st annual “ageathon” in the books. 1/10 of a mile for every year on birthday. All good back in the day. Blessing and a curse when ya gotta knock out 6 plus miles. Blessing that I can make it. Curse getting passed by people walking dogs and pushing strollers!#ageathon

Dawn Staley shares a coaching and parenting truth that most people get wrong. "I'm very different than your parents because your parents don't want you to fail, and they don't want you to be uncomfortable." You can't steal the struggle for others. "They do everything in their power to make sure you don't feel the pain that they felt growing up. And it's probably the biggest mistake because they're gonna fail." Love isn't protecting someone from struggle - it's preparing them for it. "I tell them, 'I love you enough to allow you to fail.' I do." "I love you enough to allow you to hurt. I love you enough for you to have a bad game or bad month or even a bad season." You can't grow without failures, mistakes, and setbacks. That's where true growth happens. "And that's not just basketball, that's just anything. You're gonna have bad days that you're gonna have to just fight." The greatest gift you can give someone isn't comfort. It's the ability to handle discomfort. Optimize for resilience, not comfort. That's what prepares them for anything. (🎥Interview with Jemele Hill )
