Between the failure to fund GATOR and significant expansion of govt regulations on private schools, #lalege is killing school choice in Louisiana. Start tracking the numbers. And get ready to vote in 2027. #schoolchoice
Private schools must be able to survive w/o govt programs, but this is a tragedy. This school serves almost entirely low-income families whose kids’ needs have been ignored by state lawmakers for the past 2 years. SHAME ON THEM. #lalege #lagov wafb.com/video/2026/06/11/ho…

“”Government-mandated increases to pharmacy dispensing fees’ run the risk of ‘exacerbating affordability challenges’ for insurers and consumers.’” We learned in ECON 101 that price controls don’t work. We shouldn’t be surprised when costs go up, not down. app.theadvocate.com/article/…

So many chickens coming home to roost here—state leaders allowing public school funding to soar over the years (as enrollment dropped) & creating expectations for local employee compensation, school leaders not exercising fiscal discipline… #lalege #lagov app.theadvocate.com/article/…

So great. So spot on. 🎯
Sen. Hawley has a new op-ed out. In it he expresses concerns about AI for jobs, safety, and data centers but his view of progress and problems leads to a precautionary approach that presumes the worst case scenario and not the benefits of technology thefp.com/p/josh-hawley-ai-r…

Great info for Louisianans as we reap the benefits of technology and bring jobs and opportunity to our state! #lalege #lagov
It was great to join @brianhaldane's program on @talk1073 this morning! We talked data centers for a few minutes today, and I look forward to joining the program again to talk AI and more! talk1073.com/2026/06/09/ai-d…

KOSA has been a mess for years. Unable to balance its restrictions with the privacy issues it raises and the speech it suppresses, the bill remains a problem today. Quick 🧵

Maybe in addition to studying the MFP, we should review (1) all sources of revenue spending, (2) state public policy decisions that have driven increased staffing, & (3) what families have shown they want/need for their kids’ education. #lalege #lagov app.theadvocate.com/article/…

Curious how federal COVID recovery money contributed toward increased staffing, as federal and state guidance repeatedly warned that it was “one-time, non-recurring emergency aid.”

Honored to share exciting economic development in Louisiana, particularly in tech & innovation, and talk about how we can secure jobs and opportunity for the long haul. Requires regulatory reform, freedom from lawfare, and advancing free market principles. #lalege #lagov
As we continue to grow technologically, the demand for data centers is only going to increase. How can we continue to building the foundation of the modern economy in the U.S. and lead the world? @ebendily, @JMLCannon, and @JuanMLondonoR join us to talk about the future of data center policy.

Refreshing to hear Miami-Dade Commissioner Roberto Gonzales talk about the importance of defending the principles of freedom, supporting families with school choice and multiple education options, and embracing technology to bring jobs, opportunity, and better quality of life.

This after Virginia used AI to cut down on regulations, saving taxpayer $ and relieving businesses & individuals from costly, heavy-handed government. Louisiana should follow instead of expanding government’s footprint as lawmakers did through dozens of bills this past session.
🔥 Texas has just launched a new AI-integrated website to help navigate state rules and regulations. This is one great example of using AI for GOOD - Demystifying complex regulations to make life easier for Texans. ⬇️

Gov. Landry addressed MFP & public school spending earlier today. But did you know that HB 312/supplemental contains $3,230,000 in line item appropriations for public schools? General operations, baseball fields, fishing team, parking lots. There's more in HB 1. #lalege #lagov

Together, these line items total $7,598,038 -- money given outside the cost- and equity-based funding formula and through an opaque, behind-the-scenes political process. Not a question of whether kids will benefit, but how needs are funded & whether state vs locals should fund.

HB 1 contains $4,368,038 in line item appropriations for public schools. Mostly general operations/support, some specific projects like sports, facilities, parking lots, security.
