1/ 3 years ago on Thanksgiving day, my oldest son had anaphylaxis and we discovered his allergy to tree nuts. We had a houseful of people and instead he and I spent hours in the Peds ED in my own department, taken care of by some of my amazing co-workers.

3/ So to my colleagues in healthcare, and anyone on the frontline (EMS, fire, police), and to anyone else in a service industry who has to work on holidays like today taking care of others, I give you my thanks. Happy Thanksgiving!
