Weasels are hard to detect, so researchers don’t know much about how their populations are doing. Researchers recently found that red meat is a good bait to lure the small mammals to camera traps.  wildlife.org/wsb-tracking-do…

Continuing to share these stories. Anyone calling these people “parasites” or cheering on these layoffs should be ashamed. This isn’t eliminating waste. It’s targeting people who get paid very little yet who are some of our most dedicated public servants protecting our National Parks and other public lands. And these cuts are putting those same public lands at risk.

These stories are heartbreaking. And also make me furious. Putting people and our wild heritage at risk.

Mtn lions in LA deal w/ roads, habitat fragmentation, wildfires, & rodenticides- even small changes to activity may add stress to an already stressed pop. But their flexibility in diel activity likely helps support coexistence between lions and recreating people. 4/5
