On Saturday April 18, my colleague Sarah Le Van Seaman (Violin/Voice) and I performed live at the FIGS Graduate Conference. Our program titled ‘Latent Musical Histories: Vocality, Ephemerality, and the Folk Tradition’ included music by Severac, Händel, Schumann, and Viadort.
Listen to the second movement (scherzo) from our performance of Pauline Viardot’s Sonatina in A Minor for Violin and Piano.
Note on the piano: The model is Erard, a 19th century historic French instrument! Quite fitting for the program considering our performance of works by French composers.
