On this #WorldMSDay, ECTRIMS joins the international MS community in calling for global action to improve the early and accurate diagnosis of MS. This year's theme, #MyMSDiagnosis, reminds us that early and accurate diagnosis is not just a clinical milestone. Behind every diagnosis is a person seeking clarity, answers, and timely access to care. โ™ฆ๏ธ More than 2.9 million people worldwide live with multiple sclerosis โ™ฆ๏ธ Every 5 minutes, someone, somewhere in the world is diagnosed with MS When we look at what shapes an MS diagnosis, the 2024 revisions to the McDonald Diagnostic Criteria represent an important step forward. The updated criteria provide healthcare professionals with more precise guidance to support earlier and more accurate MS diagnoses, incorporating new diagnostic tools and a broader understanding of how MS presents across different patient groups. ECTRIMS is committed to driving research, sharing knowledge, and improving care for people living with MS. Today, on International Clinical Trials Day, we recognize the essential role of clinical research in advancing multiple sclerosis care. A key goal of ECTRIMSโ€™ mission is to actively support and coordinate initiatives in research and clinical care in Europe and worldwide. Through activities like the International Advisory Committee on Clinical Trials in MS (IACCTMS) โ€“ jointly sponsored by @ECTRIMS and the @mssociety โ€“ the MS community continues to provide guidance and perspective on the planning and implementation of clinical trials for new MS treatments. These efforts help strengthen clinical trial design, improve inclusivity, and support research that better reflects real-world patient populations and outcomes. At ECTRIMS, we are proud to support collaborative initiatives that aim to improve the quality of treatment and care for people living with MS.
