đ Started some startups. Helped other founders do the same. Also started some communities, including Grand Canyon Hikers (100k members) and Startup Club (960k)
The unique magic and differentiation of @Clubhouse has ALWAYS been voice plus public discovery and connection around shared interests and experiences - even though that has NEVER been truly supported in the architecture of the app - or by the actions of the team (and still isnât)
If it had, I have zero doubts that this would have already been the next major social network - and that is what I have been trying to help with ever since I first experienced the original magic of this app back in April of 2020.
Clubs are the opt-in interest graph, the user-created topic directory, and the highest signal on the entire app - but have never been supported as such - instead treated as barely an afterthought - and that is the ironic tragedy of this app named Clubhouse.
Yo @Clubhouse it appears that Houses and Clubs are each for different specialized and limited use cases. If so, that misses ALL of the huge range of use cases in between. Why wouldnât they simply be the same thing that is configurable to fit the unique needs of each group?
Yo @Clubhouse People & Topics have notification bells, why donât Clubs? Notifications go out to all House members, why not the same with Clubs? Profiles show âfollowed by,â why doesnât it also show how many Clubs in common? Users can add Twitter & IG to profiles, why canât Clubs?
Yo @Clubhouse why have creators of large communities (Clubs) never been considered to be âtop creatorsâ by the Clubhouse team?
âTop creatorâ status, support, and access apparently only applies to âcreators of contentâ and not to âcreators of communityâ - why is that?
Yo @Clubhouse why are invites to Clubs no longer pinned to the top of the activity feed like they used to be? (itâs now very easy to miss invites to Clubs). I asked about this - and @pdavison publicly addressed it in Town Hall over 2 months ago - yet itâs still broken. Whatâs up?
Yo @Clubhouse itâs now been over a YEAR since I first started to repeatedly report this Android app bug: After tapping the âAdd Membersâ button to invite people to a Club, the list of people to invite includes people who are already members of that Club. When might this be fixed?
