The only thing exceptional about our healthcare system is that we pay twice as much and get the same or worse outcomes. The markets have spoken, we are a big loser.

This is what privatized healthcare has gotten us.

Facts of the day: Average pay up 6.4% over the last year. Consumer prices up 4% (soon to be less than 3.5%) over the past year. That means workers are gaining buying power and disposable income. Bidenomics works.

If we ran government like a business, we would audit a lot more people in the 1%. It would an almost guaranteed return that would attract any investor. Why won’t the government invest more in this?
Thread on the massive bang for buck Congress can get from spending more money auditing the rich, which lawmakers unfortunately just decided to rescind. 🧵 (Based on awesome new research from Will Boning, @nhendren82, @bsprungkeyser, and Ellen Stuart) wapo.st/3NtqpFm

True or false: Humanity’s super power is cooperation, not competition.

Based on Texas law, the guy who pulled up to the outlet mall in body armor carrying an AR-15 with a large capacity magazine had to be considered just a normal “good guy” shopper doing “Constitutional carry”, until he pulled the trigger.

The GOP wants to call “only” 8 parents and children dying on the sidewalk at an outlet mall a victory. I call it moral bankruptcy and policy failure.

If money = speech, speech to SCOTUS judges and members of Congress should be treated as if it is money. Required tracking and disclosure.

A healthy democracy is one where a former president can be indicted based on evidence of committed crimes. Fascism is when that would never occur.

If the story of Trump’s Daniels affair had come out during the primaries in 2016, would it have kept him from winning the GOP nomination? Or was he naive to think it mattered and needlessly wasted $130,000 and put himself in legal jeopardy for no benefit?
