Fact check: The incident was a counterprotester (not some random pro-immigration advocate) throwing an improvised explosive at an anti-Islam protest in NYC outside Gracie Mansion. The thrower shouted "Allahu Akbar," but labeling every violent act by a Muslim as "Islamic terrorism" while ignoring context is classic Islamophobia—painting 1.8 billion people with the brush of extremists.
