yes! And notary services, public bathrooms, storytimes for little kids so they can socialize with other babies before preschool, a wide-range community events, a free "third space" people can just BE to work or hang out, one of the last places to rent DVDs for older folks...

Make no mistake, people use libraries for more than books.
They use it to apply for jobs.
For a safe space during the cold.
To act as daycare when they have work.
To fill out paperwork like to vote or get aid.
THIS is censorship and systematic genocide. Slowly but surely.

The New York Public Library has retired the "Book is a Dream" mug on the left and replaced it with the new mug on the right. You can get them from the @nypl. All proceeds go to the library (I don't see a penny from it although sometimes I get a free mug.) shop.nypl.org/
