Surely its time we got social prescribing going in Jersey too. So many of our patients would benefit from a service like this.
Today is International Day of Happiness and we’re here to share the message that we can’t ALWAYS be cheerful! Sometimes we need support from those around us. Our Link Workers meet clients and find out what matters to them, in order to help them feel happier in their lives.

What a fantastic story of the power of #socialprescribing.
After experiencing feelings of anxiety and depression, Danny was referred to his local social prescribing service. He met Damian who suggested he try the park run, as well as other local services 🏃 If you think social prescribing could help you, talk to your GP practice.

Unfortunately the fact that meds are immediately available for someone in need whereas psychology and other interventions can be a long wait will mean that meds may be worth trying initially. On the day offer of psychology or social prescription could change that possibly

We should definitely be doing this better for some people. We have written business plans that have gone nowhere though. A bit of a simplification though as there are definitely a good number who benefit greatly from these meds.

Yesterday during our #RCGPLive discussion on Omicron and what it means for general practice, @CMO_England acknowledged the "amazing work" that general practice has done over the last two years & continues to do. Watch the event back here: bit.ly/3H2Gz2k

Between the CVC and the three GP practices, 2,654 vaccine doses were administered yesterday! An incredible effort by everyone involved. The CVC is open until 7.30pm today (Sun 19 Dec) for those aged 18 requiring a booster dose, whose second dose was on or before the 19 Sep.

We used this visual aid in an experiment with >3000 Americans. Half was explained the situation using the hope-oriented graph. The other half just received a threat-graph of rising infections. Hope increased support for restrictions and motivations to adhere to guidelines. (4/5)
