Brian, for the love of god, you cannot take a health database, click 'sort' and think that the top 5 drugs patients who survive longer happen to be taking are causal to the benefit those patients received. 500k is actually not a large cohort for a database, needs alpha correction, was very unlikely to be prespecified, etc. that's why no one is impressed with these studies and they're published in trash journals.

the mechanistic rationale is not there and your explanation is terrible. ALL PDEs metabolize cAMP/cGMP, thats why they are phosphodiesterases. are you suggesting we should inhibit all PDEs?!

Don't get me wrong, the models do still improve measurably.
They went from barely being able to write any coherent Haskell (Sonnet-3.7) to solving most of my challenges (GPT-5) to solving my challenges better than most experts (GPT-5.5) -- and every major release still delivers a new improvement on my little benchmark.
In particular, Fable 5 solved a challenge in 30 minutes that GPT-5.5 only solved once in almost a hundred runs. Not only that, it also pointed out that my spec for it is wrong for an edge case.
Funny how my little hobby turned out to be a very decent benchmark for AI model capabilities.

I don't understand the obsession of the big labs with making the models bigger and fancier.
Well-targeted performance of AI is already superhuman.
Just advance context management in tooling, that has way more upside than adding another B to the model size.
