Let me tell you a true tale. Pal Benko Today is the anniversary of his birth 15/07/1928. He was an incredible chess player, before my time. He was the one who deepened my love for chess compositions. I owe him a lot. He was unique in many ways. For example... When he asked his Hungarian girlfriend to marry him, who was a mathematician and a chess player herself, he composed a selfmate and sent that to her. She had to solve it to understand the message.🙂He would come back from the US and let her checkmate him.✨ You can see the composition in the 2nd picture too, where I am together with Pal and Ziki, his wife, who solved it. ❤ An amazing lady whose admiration for Pal was endless.
