I have reinstalled Twitter to respond to this story and make sure my voice is fully heard. I am Casey. My real name is Alex but my mom decided it would be best to hide it for anonymity. But this is my story, not hers. This is not the free press’s story.

An algorithm decided you should see this tweet! Our new paper shows a big problem with algorithmic curation: it hides content by people not like you (different races for example). You say: sure, that’s because users themselves are prejudiced. We say: it's something more! 🧵

This season of The Turning: Room of Mirrors podcast is one of the most important things I’ve ever listened to. Dancer kids are a special breed. Thank you for speaking to us, @ejlantz

As a professional feminist and one-time ballet dancer (for nearly 30 years of my life), I am fully obsessed with this podcast, The Turning: Room of Mirrors, from @ejlantz. If you have thoughts about gender politics and/or Balanchine, it’s a must-listen! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

"The opening monologue seems deliberately discombobulating, spinning and whirling as it feeds us provocative spoonfuls of setting and character." Finally got to be deliberately discombobulating and I think we're even getting away with it... Thank you for this review.

Yes, I could hardly believe my eyes when I got to the end of this first page. The pages that come after it are worth your time, too.
Replying to @ChloeAngyal
I was thrilled when @ejlantz asked for an interview, because this sentence appears on the very first page of TURNING POINTE.

If I wouldn’t have had my abortions I would not be the woman I am today. If I would not have had my abortions I would not be the mom I am today. If I hadn’t my abortions I would not be the wife of 31 years that I am today. My abortions gave me freedom & independence. No shame.

The clinic staff spent Friday canceling the appointments of 60-70 patients scheduled for abortions in the coming weeks. “Some patients broke down and could not speak through their sobbing. Some patients were stunned and didn't know what to say. Some patients did not understand.”
The only abortion clinic in West Virginia is no longer performing abortions, as of today. “Roe has never been enough, but in states like West Virginia, it was the only thing protecting abortion access,” executive director Katie Quinonez said. apnews.com/article/live-upda…

Congrats to WBUR alum @ejlantz and sister @elinlantzlesser for "The Turning" podcast tracking down former nuns under Mother Teresa and exposing the fine line between religion and a cult. The podcast gave voice to women who have been silenced. cc @UMWallaceHouse
I'm shocked to win this award alongside my sister, @ejlantz. I'm grateful and thoroughly savored the day I spent sitting in a room with so many of the greats of journalism. Still can't believe it all. @RococoPunch
