Really interesting how some of the evolving tech is exposing human imperfections: some automatic speech recognition systems are better than 2nd language speakers, some NMT is better than translation students.. Uncomfortable, but important conversations to have & act upon #2022TEF

Lots of examples and scenarios in the "Trans & Tech in Crisis" panel, feeding into the idea that we may prefer simple solutions to complex problems in general, but let's not dismiss some solutions (tech or otherwise) just because they only work in a narrow usecase #2022TEF
