HGSS, and by extension ORAS, gave fans alot of good faith on remakes, believing that things can only get better. That's why there was still a great demand for Sinnoh remakes. So when an actual subpar game came along, it shattered all good will for remakes going forward.
The Hoenn and Sinnoh confirmed jokes were some of the funniest schizoposting casual memes in the community and the worst part about BDSP being nigh universally hated is that nobody has the heart to make "Unova confirmed" jokes. BDSP basically killed the trend off entirely

I am so salty about Fortunes Weave lately. I want to be excited for the game, but Fodlan haters, specially in Bluesky, are ruining all my hype for the game. It seems that you can't like or be positive about Fodlan anymore because 1000 bitches in your ear will tell you its dogshit
