Achieved first blood jackpotting the ATM at @NorthSec_io #nsec2023 CTF this weekend! The most insane and thrilling hack I've pulled off at a CTF so far, it certainly caught the eyes of everyone in the room and the event organizers, describing it "straight out of a movie"!

Speaking of, it's almost 2026 and they still don't support IPv6. They don't even seem to announce a single IPv6 prefix (and those are handed out like candy) Long live legacy IP! ๐Ÿฅณ

We've completed the acquisition of the ๐Ÿท๐Ÿบ๐Ÿน.๐Ÿท๐Ÿน.๐Ÿถ.๐Ÿถ/๐Ÿท๐Ÿผ and ๐Ÿท๐Ÿป๐Ÿป.๐Ÿท๐Ÿธ๐Ÿท.๐Ÿถ.๐Ÿถ/๐Ÿท๐Ÿผ IPv4 blocks for @vercel CDN and Fluid compute. Fun fact: these are a piece of internet history, which we acquired from P&G, as part of the "legacy space". ARIN legacy IPv4 ranges are address blocks originally issued before the inception of the regional Internet registry system in 1997. These larger blocks were originally given to corporations like Procter & Gamble and Ford (!) with fewer restrictions and regulations. These days the world is transitioning to the much larger IPv6 space, but IPv4 is still incredibly valuable for interoperability with billions of devices and huge amounts of infrastructure. High quality and high reputation IPs like these are scarce and expensive. They're like a rare, borderless PSA 10 Charizard. Each day there's fewer of them. Security and availability are the top priority at @vercel. Our teams do a lot of work behind the scenes to make sure your visitors get the best global access to your projects, with your infra on autopilot ๐Ÿซก

UK's age verification law is working exactly as critics predicted: a complete disaster. Compliant sites lost 90% of users. Non-compliant sketchy sites saw traffic DOUBLE. On the bright side: Kids are now being taught to use Tor browser. Congratulations, you played yourselves๐Ÿงต

any idea how this might be working? perhaps they might be using grok towards the end in maybe re-ranking stages (after all the candidate generation, embedding output, mixing/serving steps)

To be clear: this entire thing went off the rails because Zelensky made the catastrophically offensive move of pointing out the reality that Putin broke a ceasefire in 2015 and that when Vance talks about diplomacy, he canโ€™t explain how Putin is a trustworthy partner. Zelensky simply spoke the truth, which Vance deemed totally unacceptable and offensive because he was trying to โ€œlitigateโ€ the issue in front of the press. And then it unraveled from there. Just wild.

After working as an SWE for 10 years, I learned that irreplaceable engineers do exist. What I also learned is that companies are perfectly fine letting irreplaceable engineers go.

Google's Play Integrity API is not a security feature but rather it pretends to be one. Both Apple and Google are failing to protect their users against real world commercial exploit tools. Banning using one of the only options people have for better protection is anti-security.

What we saw on the streets of Montreal last night was appalling. Acts of antisemitism, intimidation, and violence must be condemned wherever we see them. The RCMP are in communication with local police. There must be consequences, and rioters held accountable.

How can Google "sell" Chrome or Android? Apart from the trademarks and some proprietary features, both are primarily open-source projects. Yes, Google drives most of the development, but what does "selling" even mean here? Selling the copyrights and trademarks? How would that affect projects like Edge, Brave, LineageOS, or the countless Chinese ROMs tailored for mainland China? What's stopping any company right now from leading forks of Chromium or AOSP (Android Open Source Project)? What tangible difference would selling the copyrights make? If anything, it could destabilize the open-source ecosystems around them. Selling could even jeopardize the sustainability of Chromium and AOSP entirely.

Totally shocking, coming from Microsoft/Windows who pride themselves for their backwards compatibility.
DO NOT UPDATE if you are using Windows Mixed Reality. It will make your headset an expensive plastic Brick. As Microsoft removed any support for the WMR platform. Thanks, Microsoft.

Modern developers will pay ANYTHING not to connect a server to the internet themselves. A tax on learned helplessness the hyperscalers are only too willing to collect.
