Pro of not having a set daily word count or deadline: you can write 488 words on Saturday morning and spend the rest of the weekend doing nothing without feeling stressed about not meeting your goals π
Con: you might end up with a new story idea π€¦π»ββοΈ

I got such lovely feedback when I shared my first snippet of "Backstage Confessions" that I was going to post another one, but I'm currently in the "I hate everything I'm writing and all these words are ridiculous, stupid crap" phase π¬

It was a struggle, but I added 616 words to "Backstage Confessions" today. I might have to do another no-writing day to give my brain some rest from this work week, but that's exactly why I have these loose writing goals.

Ugh, work has sucked away all motivation just when I was feeling good about my writing π
6 projects/100 pages to finish by the end of this year and everything "urgent" because why stick to a schedule when you can just have 1000% stress?

Recurring work annoyance: being sent projects where the format is completely out of whack and I have to waste several minutes fixing it. I just got a 26-page project, except with proper formatting (and none of those double/triple gaps between paragraphs) it's only 16 pages π€¦π»ββοΈ

I hate maths, but I apparently enjoy calculating random things like how many words a day I've been writing on average (723) and how many more days it'd take to finish "Backstage Confessions" (60 if BC is a 50K story) π€·π»ββοΈ

Another 1K day, bringing "Backstage Confessions" to 6,515 words total! Sly Chase is up to no good, snarky Dante sees right through him and poor Kate is embarrassed. Could be worse, right? (Not according to Kate π€·π»ββοΈ)

I tried to write chronologically and without skipping the boring parts, but I'm sick of being stuck in this scene like ten seconds before Dante and Kate meet. So here I go, jumping right to where the actual fun begins! π

My brain always wants me to write when I'm at work (and only have access to my files on my phone, so typing sucks) but when it's time to actually sit down and write, it's deathly silent π

Two scenes of WIP "Backstage Confessions" done, a lot more to go. Slow but steady progress with 4.7K words so far, and it's only the first week of writing! Dante and Kate have yet to meet, though π¬ Maybe tomorrow?

I want to call this scene finished, but it's only 1.5K long, whereas the first scene has 2.5K words π¬
I'm tempted to up the target wordcount per scene (= fewer scenes), or should I just ignore the discrepancy and keep writing? π€

I didn't start writing until way after 10PM, but I did make my 4K goal! No set goal for tomorrow other than either write or work on the outline.
It's so nice not to have a target word count I have to reach, which means there's zero pressure :)

Four days since starting "Backstage Confessions" and already 3.6K written! Today's goal (other than surviving another work day π) is hitting the 4K.
