How long ago is 1973? I remember the Mets losing the World Series in October; but I have no recollection of the Knicks winning a title in June. Glad I got to see this.

Saw the Bears host the Packers in 1996 and loved it. Returned in 2010 to watch my wife run a race that finished on the field, and couldn’t believe what they’d done to the place.
RIP Soldier Field: 1924-2002 Soldier Field died when the city of Chicago and Ted Phillips decided to completely destroy one of the greatest stadiums in NFL history. Look at those beautiful alternating seats in a classic bowl shape bringing you closer to the field! But since the 2003 renovation destroyed the original shape of the Soldier Field, it lost its historic landmark title. While I view Packers as rivals, Bears should have gone with the Lambeau Field gradual improvement approach. Let’s upgrade the restrooms, concourses, and hallways Then let’s upgrade the pro shop and hall of fame Then let’s add the suites and all the other extras If we had done it that way, we would have 80k seat capacity with all of the perks of a modernized stadium But Ted Phillips and Chicago opted for better luxury suites at the expense of the average fan’s seats. The 2003 renovation shrank the capacity by 15,000 seats and completely took away the originality of what made Soldier Field great. Because that job was done so poorly and because it was improperly funded, Bears have been stuck with a shell of itself for a long time If there was anyway to get this classic Soldier Field back, I would. But it’s time to move on. Lastly, one piece of advice to our new stadium build in Hammond. Give us a state of the art stadium, but be sure to give room for future and gradual improvement. This is the way…

Though we are only on Earth for a limited time, we are part of a grander design; at least that’s the feeling that overwhelmed me the first time I saw the Sagrada Família.

My visit here was a life-affirming experience. If you ever get to Barcelona, make sure you go.
Demà dia 10 de juny, quan el sol es pongui, la torre de Jesucrist quedarà il·luminada durant la seva inauguració. A partir de les 19:45 podràs seguir-ho a les nostres xarxes socials en directe!

Hey @hulu, why pay all this money for your service if it won’t stop buffering during the NBA Finals? And it’s not just the main feed, it’s all the others too.

Now the main @Hulu feed is 1:30 behind the actual game. We actually saw the feed skip backward with no intervention from us. Ridiculous.

Love how this has set off three days of hilarity. Glad I’m not the only one.
Here are all the counties that are >10% Irish and >10% Italian. Most of these counties are in New England and the mid-Atlantic states.

Pro basketball is the sleeping giant of Washington sports.
Gimmie back my Bullets. Loved these uniforms. Always thought that the road set should have been primarily blue instead of red. I still haven’t gotten over the name change though. My father raised me on basketball because he played at Mackin (‘58) and we went to more Bullets games than anything else.

The best part of the WaPo these days.
Capital Weather Gang, the weather blog that has been a part of the Washington Post for almost 20 years, is becoming an independent site and rebranding as Capital Weather. Per a note to WaPo staff today, the site will still contribute to WaPo during major weather events.
