The scenes and chanting outside the Opera House last night are abhorrent. At a time when there should be solidarity with our Jewish community, they have been subject to appalling abuse. I am seeking an urgent explanation of how this was allowed to happen.

What a disgrace. Police warn the Jewish community it is not safe for them to witness the Opera House lighting tonight because of fears Palestinian protesters may be a threat. People bringing their hatred to this country is totally unacceptable. Their parents came here because we are a tolerant, safe country. Their children are now bringing hate to Australia, terrifying its citizens & insulting us in a reprehensible way.

this is so sickening. in sydney.
Moments after the blue and white colours of the Israeli flag lit up the Opera House sails, pro-Palestine members of the crowd started screaming “f--k Israel” and “f--k the Jews”. Israeli flags were also burned 👉 bit.ly/48Nhrva

The fact that the names and addresses of women who’ve had abortions were compromised in the Medibank data breach, in a separate file called “abortions” is terrifying.

A beautiful coming together over a terrible tragedy. Let’s get some change so this stops happening.
Thousands of people attended a vigil in Australia for Cassius Turvey, an Indigenous teenager who died after allegedly being attacked by a group of white men while walking home from school. Members of Perth’s Maori community paid tribute by performing the Haka ⤵️
