The withdrawal of the opportunity to apply for direct funding through the Creative Scotland Open Fund for Individuals will deprive the majority of playwrights in Scotland the means to work and destroys any sense that their work is valued by those who fund our culture.

Once when I was young, around 8 or so, we had a garage sale. My siblings and I were killing time riding our bikes along the sidewalk and this guy stopped in. But he wasn't there to buy anything.

20 years ago a drunk, angry woman came at me with a broken bottle in an alley behind Broughty Ferrry Safeway’s. I calmed her down and said you are a wild animal but you have the quick wits of a street cat. Let’s hear more from the cat. That woman was Liz Truss. Rest is history.

Exodus @traversetheatre is brilliant! Political farce is a wildly tough form to tackle and @UmaNadaRajah3 attacks it with fierce female irreverence. Audience howling with laughter, gasps, tears and on our feet in ovation at the end. Brave, risky, wild new playwright has arrived!!

Hats off to @debbiehannan the cast and creative team @NTSonline @traversetheatre the audience today LOVED IT. The press response just shows us once again the work that needs to be done in our industy, entitled voices wielding their power over the rest of us, it has to change!
