One thing I’ve noticed about MAGA —from Trump and Musk, on down to their supporters— is an across-the-board lack of compassion. That is, unless they are directly affected — then they become indignant when others don’t sympathize with them. It’s borderline sociopathic behavior.

House Republicans pretended not to know about Project 2025 last year. Now they are implementing it. We will hold them accountable for lying to the American people.

BREAKING: In a new executive order, Donald Trump has revoked the federal contractor nondiscrimination executive order, EO 11246, that was signed by Lyndon Johnson in 1965 and has protected employees of businesses seeking federal contracts from discrimination ever since.

Given the Republicans' slim majority in the House, this seems like it could very easily backfire on both Speaker Johnson and Donald Trump.

For over a decade, Pete Hegseth said women shouldn’t serve in combat. He started singing a different tune once he got picked to be Defense Secretary. But if he’s just saying whatever he needs to say to get confirmed, he could flip back to his long-held view after getting the job.

Why is Trump (or people in his circle) talking about building an American empire that includes (depending on the day) Greenland, Canada, Panama, Mexico? Here are five Trumpian logics explanations, all of which can function together, and probably do. Essay link in image or profile

We send solidarity to all the victims and survivors of this brutal war as we chart a path forward. It is imperative that all parties stay committed until the entire agreement is implemented and diplomacy replaces war.

Some ice on the pond this morning, otherwise blue sky. Forecast for Thursday a mix of snow and rain. Pretty much defines dangerous driving conditions.

6 January 1941 | Several prisoner-musicians who had received musical instruments from home, gathered in one of the rooms of the ground floor of Block 24, where they held their first informal rehearsal. This was the nucleus of the future camp orchestra. Later on, the musicians held further rehearsal performances. Gradually, the composition of the ensemble grew, supplemented by prisoners arriving in transports deported to the camp in the first months of 1941.
