The majority of designs for years have been shipped with only phone and desktop views, leaving developers to figure out intermediate values. I guess these guys have decided to stick to the provided design.

This is kinda weird, why a library (@nextauthjs ) that was written specifically for another library (@nextjs) would expect a wrong type. Or don't I understand something?
