AN OPEN LETTER TO MR. PRESIDENT
@officialABAT
SUBJECT: Over 1 Year Delay in Issuing Appointment Letters to National Health Fellows Despite Presidential Directive.
I am writing on behalf of the 2025 Cohort of National Health Fellows to respectfully seek your intervention regarding the prolonged non-issuance of our appointment letters by the Federal Civil Service Commission. On March 6, 2025, during the inauguration of the National Health Fellowship Program at the Presidential Villa, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, publicly pronounced automatic employment into the Federal Civil Service for all fellows. Over one year later, the Federal Civil Service Commission is yet to issue appointment letters to any member of our cohort, and no official communication has been provided to explain the delay. In reliance on the President’s directive, many of us resigned from existing jobs or declined other opportunities and have since remained jobless, stranded, and under severe financial hardship. This is particularly distressing given that the 2024 cohort, who received a similar promise in July 2024, have since received their letters and assumed duty. We are patriotic health professionals eager to serve and strengthen Nigeria’s health system as envisioned by Mr. President, but the continued silence from the FCSC has left us demoralized and undermines public trust in government pronouncements. We therefore appeal to you to use your respected platform to bring urgent attention to this matter, call on Mr. President and the Federal Civil Service Commission to honor the March 6, 2025 directive, and demand an official timeline for the release of our appointment letters. We are available to provide video evidence of the presidential pronouncement, a list of affected fellows, and representatives for further clarification.
Thank you for your commitment to accountability and national development.
Goodafternoon Mutuals, please o have an appeal, need it to go as far as possible. A lot of lives and careers of young Nigerian medical fellows are at risks of abandonment by the Federal Government and the presidency.
I'd love to lend my voice, a repost would go a long way 🙏🙏
